About
Dr. Steele is a double board-certified Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine physician. After being accepted into medical school at 17, she completed a rigorous Honors Program in Medicine at the University of Miami. She went on to become Chief Resident at Carolinas Medical Center and has over a decade of clinical experience working at medical institutions including Harvard Vanguard and Kaiser Northern California. She is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine affiliated with Stanford University.
Dr. Steele is certified in Nutrition in Medicine through eCornell University and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She has also taken the Rouxbe Plant-Based culinary course.
At Kaiser, Dr. Steele ran a Lifestyle Medicine pilot program for patients with type 2 diabetes or heart disease, with the goal of treating/reversing illness through a plant-based diet and intensive lifestyle change. The program was incredibly successful—nearly all patients were able to decrease medication, improve A1c, and lose weight.
In her free time, Dr. Steele enjoys getting out in nature (especially hiking and longboard surfing), trying new plant-based recipes with her husband, and losing at UNO to her 5 & 6 year olds.
